FAQs

What makes the new Fore Runner better than a folding RIB of the past?

There are many upgrades over the past folding RIBs. The first, and biggest, is that all seams are now welded rather than glued providing greater safety and reliability. Additional improvements include increased accessories, integrated hand holds, smoother ride, better folding ability and high-quality materials. There are more improvements than we can list.

What materials are used on the Fore Runner?

The Fore Runner uses a highly durable material called Heytex from Germany. This material has a built-in mold & mildew resistance and can handle repeated folding.

How long will a Fore Runner last?

The benefit of a Fore Runner is that it can be folded up and put away. Because of this, it is saved from
long term exposure to the sun which is the greatest source of degradation for inflatables. Determining how long it will last is hard to know and is ultimately reliant on the customer’s use & care.

How long does it take to set-up and take-down?

The average inflation time using a 12 volt or battery-operated pump is approximately 4 minutes. Deflating and repacking the Fore Runner is very fast, often taking just over 2 minutes.

How long is the warranty?

The Fore Runner offers a 3-year seam & delamination prorated warranty as well as a 2-year warranty on all accessories including pump, valve, transom, oars and hull.

What type of outboard should I use on my Fore Runner?

This depends on many factors such as frequency of use, typical run time per day, distance to be travelled and overall speed desired. Gas outboards generally provide greater range & speed but are also much heavier and require service whereas electric outboards do not. For short to medium distances at harbor speeds, used a few times a day, having a rechargeable electric outboard is tough to beat. You can purchase both gas and electric outboards directly from our site.

Can I ship my Fore Runner to other locations?

We can safely ship Fore Runners all around the world but because the exposed hull is made from fiberglass, it is best to ship on a pallet. The pallet provides significant protection and allows for multiple accessories & an engine to be added to the shipment without increasing cost much.

1. Once a year (minimum) wash the Inflatable with fresh water. After the surface is dry and clean, apply an inflatable conditioner to the surface. Follow instructions for the conditioner.

2. Don’t leave your Fore Runner stored in a humid location that can get extremely hot. Try to keep the Fore Runner stored in a dry/cool place.
